AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to todays personal watercraft users.
This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

Each category is divided into Pro and Amateur depending on the quality of field and and the amount of racers on the start line.
The organigram explains the structures for 2017. In the future we may add further categories, but this year these are the options competitors can choose from.
The purpose of the Amateur category is to provide an accessible and affordable racing platform to encourage recreational riders to take part in organised competition. It also acts as a proving ground for those wishing to advance to the Pro level but don't have quite enough experience to make the jump up to Pro.
The classes with the Amateur divisions are as follows.
Competitors taking part in the Amateur class will be considered Amateur, which means a rider must be self-funded and receives no direct financial or product support from a PWC manufacturer. They must not be part of a team that provides professional mechanics. However, they may have local and aftermarket industry sponsors and can form part of a club team. Veteran riders or those with limited funding, despite having previous experience, may remain within the Amateur ranks so long as they adhere the the above rules.
When a series does not offer a Pro level and yet Pro riders are in attendance, Pro riders will be governed by Amateur rules. i.e USA North East series or the Malaysian.
To date, there is Pro category racing in the USA, Europe and the UK. The class is open to all models of sit down PWC that adhere to the Enduro rules, though the rules encourage the use of higher rated HP craft. Only current racers with sufficient racing experience will be accepted to compete in the Pro categories. No downgrades will be permitted, but once the season has started riders may upgrade from the Am ranks if they fulfil the entry criteria and there is available space on the line. The same goes for international Wild Card entrants.
The Sprint category will include the following classes and run to IJSBA rules:
Sprint racing, when run in conjunction with Enduro racing, will retain the same simple format as in previous years and will follow the general rules of AquaX competition. There is a Sprint Racing appendix at the back of the rule book to govern areas not covered in the general AX rules section.
As a rule of thumb, when Sprint racing is run in conjunction with a Jetcross World Tour event, or as a standalone event (no supporting Enduro racing) then it will follow the Jetcross general rules of racing. However, all AX Sprint racing will follow Jetcross technical rules.
